"Oru Svapnam" A Dream

Within the room I see a solitary lamp lit
A single peacock feather strayed on to the floor
The tender cradle made by the mother
Of white silk
Swings gently in the breeze.
Is the infant asleep?
I can barely see.
The breeze that stirs the infant clothes
Is filled with the scent of sandalwood.
I see only a foot
Of the one, whose hue is that of the rain clouds
Stretching out of the cradle
Adorned by a golden anklet.
I cannot go near him
Separated as I am by the window of many births.
So here I stand in sorrow
Waiting, Waiting !
Note: Sugatha Kumari is devoted to the deity Shri Krishna
