Religion

Religion is clasped in the hands of the powerful
To be hurled and spread over the land
Giving vent to their inflated egos.
Religion is molded from the minds of philosopher- scholars,
Whose thoughts allow us to wonder, perhaps make sense
Connecting time, space, culture and history.
Religion is released into words, by poets,
Expressing that which we feel, but cannot tell.
Religion is poured into the songs of minstrels,
Dancing beyond, in tune, with the harmony of the spheres.
Religion is held tenderly in the hearts of the afflicted poor,
Who bend low and accept,
That all is not in their hands !
